Lyrics

Boom-boom-boom, the earth trembles
Crack-crack-crack, foundations crumble

Wars and famine, disease and disaster
Earth is shaking, turmoil's getting faster
Trembling like a drunk, quaking in fear
Why do you shake, Earth? Why do you fear?

Listen closely, can you hear?
The sound of footsteps drawing near

His footsteps approach, can you hear them?
God's steps coming closer to our realm
His footsteps approach, judgment's coming
Wake up from your slumber, stop your running
Time is short, He's almost here
His footsteps approach, do you hear?

Israel, timekeeper of all nations
Once destroyed, now sees restoration
Like a fig tree, it's turning green
The wise will know what this clock means

Listen closely, can you hear?
The sound of footsteps drawing near

His footsteps approach, can you hear them?
God's steps coming closer to our realm
His footsteps approach, judgment's coming
Wake up from your slumber, stop your running
Time is short, He's almost here
His footsteps approach, do you hear?

Boom-boom-boom, Earth's foundations shake
Crack-crack-crack, time to awake
Tick-tock-tick, the clock's winding down
His judgment comes, for slave and crown

His footsteps approach, can you hear them?
God's steps coming closer to our realm
His footsteps approach, judgment's coming
Wake up from your slumber, time to be running
To His arms, before it's too late
His footsteps approach, don't hesitate

Boom-boom-boom, His steps grow loud
Will you be ready when He parts the clouds?

Israel — The Timepiece of the Nations: The Fig Tree That Blossomed

Israel holds a special place in the Bible as a nation and a spiritual timepiece for the world. Many believers see Israel as a prophetic barometer, signaling the fulfillment of God’s promises and ancient prophecies. Today, we will explore the symbolism of the fig tree and how its story reflects the past, present, and future of Israel.

The Fig Tree is a Symbol of Israel
The fig tree is one of the key symbols of Israel throughout the Bible. In the Old Testament, prophets often used the image of the fig tree to represent Israel's spiritual state. A fig tree bearing fruit signifies God’s blessing, prosperity, and approval, while a barren fig tree represents spiritual decline and apostasy.

Jesus Curses the Fig Tree
In the Gospels of Matthew (21:18-22) and Mark (11:12-14), we find an intriguing event: Jesus, seeing a fig tree with leaves but no fruit, curses it, saying, “May no fruit ever come from you again.” At first glance, this may seem surprising, especially since it was not the season for figs. However, this act of Jesus holds deep prophetic significance.

The fig tree symbolized Israel, which was in a state of spiritual decay at that time. By cursing the fig tree, Jesus was prophetically illustrating that the nation of Israel had rejected Him as the Messiah and had failed to produce the spiritual fruit of repentance and faith. Soon after this event, in 70 AD, the Roman armies destroyed Jerusalem and the Temple, and the Jewish people were dispersed across the world. This tragic event fulfilled the prophecy of Israel being left desolate and barren.

The Restoration of Israel: The Fig Tree Blossoms
However, the Bible also contains a prophecy that the fig tree would once again blossom. In the Gospel of Luke (21:29-31), Jesus tells a parable: “Look at the fig tree, and all the trees. When they sprout leaves, you can see for yourselves and know that summer is near. Even so, when you see these things happening, you know that the Kingdom of God is near.”

After nearly 2,000 years of dispersion, something miraculous happened in 1948 — the state of Israel was reborn. Many believers see this historic event as fulfilling the prophecy that the fig tree has blossomed again. The restoration of Israel serves as a powerful spiritual sign for the nations, demonstrating that God’s plans are being fulfilled right before our eyes.

The Last Generation: A Time of Expectation
Jesus also spoke profound words in Matthew 24:34: “Truly I tell you, this generation will certainly not pass away until all these things have happened.” This statement is interpreted by many as a reference to the generation that witnessed the rebirth of Israel. In the Bible, the typical length of a generation is considered to be 70 to 80 years (Psalm 90:10).

If we take 1948 as the starting point of Israel’s restoration and add 80 years, we arrive at 2028. While this does not mean we can pinpoint the exact day or hour of Christ’s return — as Jesus Himself said, “No one knows the day or the hour” (Matthew 24:36) — it does indicate a time of heightened expectation and spiritual watchfulness in our current era.

Israel: The Timepiece of God’s Plan
The history of Israel is not just the story of one nation. It serves as a divine timepiece, allowing us to track the unfolding of God’s prophetic timeline. When we see the fig tree blossom—when we observe the events happening in Israel—it reminds all nations that God’s Word is true and His promises are being fulfilled in His perfect timing.

Today, Israel is a living testimony to God’s faithfulness and the fulfillment of His prophecies. For believers, it is a sign that the Kingdom of God is near and that the second coming of Jesus Christ draws closer.

Let us be vigilant and prayerful, eagerly awaiting the great day when the Lord will return to establish His Kingdom on earth.
