I was born into a family where my mother knew about God from childhood, while my father was an unbeliever. My mother was born into a believing family, and by the time I was about 8-10 years old, she had returned to her faith roots and began attending an evangelical church. When I was 12, I attended my first evangelistic meeting. There were preachers from different countries, and while I don't remember the sermons clearly, I vividly recall the choir singing - it touched me deeply. Some force drew me forward to the pulpit. You might think, what sins could a 12-year-old boy have? But I wept before God, repenting of my sins. That's how my encounter with God happened.
When I returned home, life had changed. If I had previously agreed with my father, I began to argue with him, proving that God exists. Since my father was educated, I constantly sought materials proving God's existence and presented them to him.
One day, my mother brought home a cassette - unfortunately, I don't remember exactly what was on it, but it was a children's choir from an American church. As I listened to their singing, I was overwhelmed with incredible feelings. I looked out the window and wished this music could spread worldwide so that everyone could hear these songs. If they did, people would come to their senses and turn to God. I remembered that Muslims have minarets from which they can recite prayers loudly, and I wished Christians had such loudspeakers, too, to broadcast songs calling people to God.
Then I grew up. Many years and decades passed, the world changed, new technologies emerged, and with the help of modern technology, I had the opportunity to create songs. When I tried to write lyrics and choose genres, I suddenly realized that many songs turned out incredibly well. Many friends who were appreciated in church liked them, and visiting missionaries from different countries told me, "If only we could have heard such songs when we were unbelievers." This confirmed my idea to start the Lionheart Revival group.
When I create these songs and listen to them now, I'm transported back to those childhood feelings. Although Lionheart Revival is still in its early stages, with only a handful of listeners, the vision remains the same. I hope that one day, this music—sometimes soul-stirring, inspiring—will be heard by people worldwide. The dream is that through these songs, people might come to their senses and lift their heads to the sky, remembering God.
